Overview
Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient/family counseling, and appropriate referrals as necessary to all inpatients and outpatients exhibiting a speech, language, hearing or swallowing disorder.Responsibilities
Effectively evaluates the patient's performance in any communicative disorders.
Develops appropriate therapeutic plan based on patient assessment and physician's orders.Observes patient/resident progress and updates plan as indicated.Provides therapy for all types of speech language hearing and swallowing disorders.Coordinates care plan with other healthcare providers.Provides education to the patient/family regarding the disease processes and planned treatment/intervention. Provides instruction in the areas of health promotion, activity and medication as appropriate.Evaluates the patient's progress, goal attainment and need for further services following discharge.Documents results of diagnostic evaluations, care plan and Resident progress in medical record.Qualifications
Master's degree in speech pathology requiredMinimum one year or experience in rehabilitation with adult speech/language-impaired populations preferredCCC-SLP Speech Pathology license required New JerseyStrong customer service skills
