In conjunction with the Membership Engagement Senior Manager, the Membership Engagement Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to manage and motivate a staff of 10-12 outbound calling Membership Engagement Representatives to hit their subscription sales and fundraising goals. The ideal candidate will be energetic, committed, have excellent interpersonal skills, a drive to succeed, and a passion for live theatre.Primary Responsibilities
Supports a strategic year-round telemarketing and telefunding program to maximize subscription renewals, subscription acquisitions, and annual donations under $2,500.Acts as a resource for members of the calling team, assisting with communicating up-to-date information regarding new subscription and donation policies.Acts as primary scheduler for Membership Engagement Representatives’ work hours, including call room and lobby shifts.Manage Membership Engagement sales activations in theatre lobbies; produce signage, materials, incentives; schedule staffing.Oversee the business needs of the call room including ordering office supplies and being the main point of contact for the mail room.Acts as a resource for the Director of Membership, keeping a pulse on the environment in the call room and proactively addressing any issues.Ensures a motivated work environment for the calling staff, providing encouragement and support, along with discipline as needed.Answers incoming calls when necessary and takes orders for callers when they are unavailable.Assists Membership Engagement Senior Manager with monitoring lead segment expiration dates and withdraws leads from callers’ portfolios upon expiration.Works with Institutional Advancement department to support membership benefits fulfillment for gifts under $2,500.Works with the Director of Membership and Membership Engagement Senior Manager in hiring and training Membership Engagement Representatives.Monitors solicitation calls and adjusts pitches as necessary.Monitors caller database activity and trains callers on documenting outreach and call results in Tessitura/auto-dialing software.Assists and advises callers on computer information such as new links and email etiquette for communication with patrons.Manages and executes order entries for all weekend gifts and subscription orders, ensuring accuracy in recording details in Tessitura.Assists in creating and maintaining incentive/bonus programs to encourage maximum productivity from callers.Performs the duties of the Membership Engagement Senior Manager when needed, including managing payroll and commissions.Maintains proficiency with CTG’s donor database system, Tessitura.Demonstrates an ongoing commitment to CTG’s equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.Other duties may be assigned.Secondary Responsibilities
Ensures that all printed materials and outgoing caller emails are well-written and proofed.Possesses excellent skills in customer service, donor relations, and problem solving.Exhibits appropriate phone, email, and in-person etiquette, responding to messages in a timely manner.Provides staff support as needed with donor stewardship, cultivation, and marketing events.Demonstrates good work habits including attendance and responsiveness to requests.Possesses a working knowledge of theatre and Center Theatre Group productions.Works collaboratively with Marketing and Institutional Advancement staff.Attends Center Theatre Group productions regularly.CTG provides a dynamic working environment in which duties and responsibilities may change. Employees are expected to be flexible and responsive to changes in the scope of their duties. All employees are expected to be familiar with and adhere to Center Theatre Group’s Personnel Policies and Procedures.Qualifications
3+ years of experience in fundraising and/or ticketing sales, ideally in a nonprofit arts environment.3+ years of experience managing staff with a proven track record in innovative motivation.2+ years of experience in cultivation, acquisition, and stewardship of donors and/or subscribers.Proven track record in creativity and analytical thinking.Working knowledge of computers and software including Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and CRM systems (Tessitura preferred).Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Ability to function well under stress.Organized, creative, proactive, and possess strong time management skills.Demonstrated experience in managing staff and interns.Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.Enthusiasm, dedication, and a positive attitude.Must be able to type and concentrate for long periods for accurate recordkeeping.Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs.Ability to work onsite 5 days a week.Proven success in customer service and staff management.All employees are required to pass a background check.CTG cares deeply about employees' health and safety.
