GCI's Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of biweekly payroll for all employees. Responsible for leveraging third-party payroll, timekeeping, and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) to maintain payroll integrity and compliance. Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the payroll department.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS:
Payroll Administration:
Interface effectively with payroll, eTime, and HRIS systems to facilitate smooth payroll operations.Review and audit eTime reporting to ensure accurate and complete time submissions from all employees.Edit employee time profiles and schedules as needed to ensure accurate payroll processing.Data Preparation & Submission:
Prepare and verify pay data information for submission to third-party payroll vendors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established deadlines.Review and respond to inquiries from third-party vendors regarding payroll processing, providing necessary documentation and clarification as required.Process termination actions accurately and promptly, ensuring all final payments and deductions are correctly applied.Complete check requests and other vendor templates to facilitate timely payment processing.Proactively resolve payroll-related issues in a timely manner, utilizing problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement solutions.Confidentiality & Compliance:
Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information and payroll data.Ensure compliance with payroll audit controls and best practices, successfully meeting key audit requirements.Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.Minimum of six (6) years of increasingly responsible Payroll or Accounting experience in a fast paced, high-volume environment or related field.One (1) year 401(k) administration, funding, reporting, and audit experience.Preferred:
Associate degree in accounting or related discipline.Experience with ADP, ADP Vantage, eTime, Kronos and HRIS software.Fundamental Payroll Certification.Certified Payroll Professional certification.DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:
This position may require access to reliable transportation for occasional travel between retail store locations, offices, worksites, or other locations as needed.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS:
