The OpportunityDelaware North is currently seeking a Vice President of Labor Relations based out of our Global Headquarters in Buffalo, New York. The Vice President of Labor Relations provides strategic leadership and operational guidance to company leadership on all labor relations matters for a company with 75+ collective bargaining agreements with multiple unions across 6 operating subsidiaries. PayMinimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $168700 - $239100 / year
In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. Responsibilities
Sets strategy and influences key business leaders on Labor Relations and all issues related to Labor Relations
Exhibits a proactive change management, consulting, and training approach with stakeholders to effectively implement the labor relations strategy across the enterprise
Provide expertise on collective bargaining processes and practices, grievances/arbitration processes and practices including training, mentoring and consultation; also provides expertise in mergers, acquisitions, and RFP's
Coordinate collective bargaining activities; ensures administrative processes are in place to effectively and efficiently implement labor agreements
Serve as Chief spokesperson for collective bargaining as required. Provide hands-on negotiation support for other assigned negotiators
Provides leadership and influence to ensure successful investigation and disciplinary process for union operations
Influences key stakeholders, supports and manages the issue free/union avoidance process
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
15 years minimum HR and Labor Relations experience and knowledge of related labor laws required, hospitality industry strongly preferred
Significant experience as Lead Negotiator
Strong experience in Labor Relations managing over 50 collective bargaining agreements with multiple unions across multiple lines of business
Comfortable juggling multiple priorities or issues at the same time
Ability to thrive in a complex matrixed operating environment where influence and relationship building is key to success
Adept at coaching, counseling, training, and mentoring others to grow the capacity of the labor relations department
Ability to travel 30-40%
