Senior Project Engineer

to join our ASL team. The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for leading and managing environmental projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and developing innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges. This role involves technical expertise, project management, and coordination with various stakeholders to promote sustainable practices and minimize environmental impact.We offer a great benefits package complete with medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, employer paid life and disability, 401K matching, and paid time off (PTO).This is a HYBRID position in Jacksonville, Florida, and 10% travel is required for projects.Responsibilities

Lead and manage environmental engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.Provide technical guidance on engineering issues and interpret engineering data results to make informed decisions.Conduct environmental remedial technology evaluations, cost estimating, and design drawings/specifications.Prepare technical reports, specifications, and plans; manage data; and conduct assessments and remediation.Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and develop a detailed project plan to track progress.Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.Evaluate, design, and perform pilot tests for remediation systems.Design and prepare reports for remediation systems, including, but not limited to, air sparging and soil vapor extraction.Manage environmental construction activities implementing and installing engineering designs such as remediation systems, trenching, piping, and site restoration.Communicate with clients and project managers regarding project status via email or phone.Provide field oversight of remediation activities and subcontractors.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, mechanical, or chemical engineering from an ABET accredited school.Professional Engineer (PE) license is required; certifications related to environmental management (e.g., LEED, CEM) can be advantageous.5-10 years of experience in environmental remediation and consulting.Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and standards.Experience with the design, construction, and operation of remediation systems.Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license.As a condition of employment, you may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable references and background check results.Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the design, construction, and operation of remediation systems is desirable.Environmental engineering degree a plus.PMP or CHMM certification.Experience interacting with regulatory agencies and their technical staff (state, local, federal).Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining the physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must maintain a constant state of mental alertness at all times. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
