Direct Counsel is seeking a Contract Immigration Attorney to join a top law firm in Boston, MA.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a respected team of immigration attorneys, supporting clients across various industries in their business immigration needs. As a Contract Immigration Attorney, you will handle a broad range of immigration cases, from non-immigrant and immigrant petitions to providing counsel on complex immigration matters. The ideal candidate will have the expertise to work independently on case preparation and filing while collaborating closely with legal assistants, paralegals, and supervising attorneys. This position is well-suited for an attorney with strong business immigration experience who values working in a dynamic, client-focused environment.About the Immigration SectionThis highly regarded Immigration Section provides legal expertise across all areas of immigration and nationality law, serving corporate clients and individuals in industries ranging from high technology and biotechnology to the performing arts. Services include obtaining work visas, permanent residency, and U.S. citizenship for foreign nationals, as well as supporting political asylum applications and solving USCIS-related challenges. The team offers tailored solutions for companies managing large volumes of immigration cases, including process mapping, case management, and reimbursement agreements. Attorneys guide clients’ employees through visa applications in both standard and complex scenarios.ResponsibilitiesIn this role, the contract attorney will:Prepare and file non-immigrant (L, H, TN, O, E, B, J) and immigrant (PERM, I-130, EB-1, I-140, I-485, N-400) petitions and applications under a supervising attorney’s guidance.Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals, and supervising attorneys on daily casework.Stay informed on business immigration law developments.Conduct research and draft alerts, publications, and blog posts.Participate in section training and other firm-related activities.Regularly review client-facing and internal reports to monitor case activity and initiations.Assist on special projects and assume responsibilities as needed.QualificationsJD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school.Admission to practice law in Massachusetts.Minimum of 2 years’ experience in business immigration law, or relevant clerkship; entry-level candidates with business immigration experience will be considered.Proficiency with immigration-focused databases and monitoring data compliance.Strong docket and time management skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.RequirementsProficiency in business systems and electronic resources.Capability to review, edit, and complete electronic and hard copy forms.Effective communication with clients, colleagues, opposing counsel, and government agencies via email, phone, and in person.Ability to sit for extended periods.Flexibility for extended hours and travel based on client needs.Ability to lift files up to 10 pounds.This role offers a chance to engage deeply with immigration law and support high-profile cases within a top-tier firm.
