Position Overview The CFO/Head of Capital Markets will be a strategic partner within our executive team, driving initiatives that shape both our current operations and our long-term future. This role demands a profound understanding of financial best practices, trends in sub-prime lending, and the agility to lead complex asset-backed securities (ABS) transactions. Our ideal candidate combines technical expertise with a genuine interest in fostering an inclusive, supportive work environment. Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with executive leadership to enhance and implement strategies that secure financial resources, mitigate risks, and support company goals.
Establish and execute a cash flow strategy aligned with our growth trajectory, prioritizing financial health and stability.
Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with key partners, including lenders, investors, government agencies, consultants, and vendors.
Oversee comprehensive portfolio analyses to track cash flows, projects, and distributions, ensuring transparency and strategic insight.
Lead financial reporting efforts, establishing controls that protect assets, promote audit compliance, and drive process improvement.
Supervise the Controller and accounting team in daily operations, including month/year-end close, accounts receivable/payables, payroll, invoicing, and cash management.
Define and communicate the financial strategy, capital requirements, and implications of asset allocation to the leadership team.
Conduct proactive financial analysis to support data-driven decision-making, particularly in working capital management.
Lead the ABS division, overseeing structuring, issuance, management, and trading of ABS to align with company goals.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize ABS portfolio performance and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Foster relationships with investors, rating agencies, and other stakeholders, while actively monitoring market trends and growth opportunities.
Provide mentorship and guidance to the ABS team, reinforcing a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (CPA preferred).
Minimum of 15 years of experience in finance, ABS, capital markets, and accounting, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Strongly preferred: Experience in automotive financing.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with an executive team, driving strategic initiatives that meet business goals.
Expertise in ABS structuring, issuance, management, and trading, with a robust understanding of regulatory requirements.
Proven track record of success in managing capital markets and financial resources with integrity and strategic insight.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on building positive relationships.
High proficiency in MS Office and industry-specific software for auto finance.
