Community College Partnership Manager
to build and maintain strong relationships with community colleges, facilitate transfer pathways, and support prospective transfer students. In this role, you will collaborate with the Office of Transfer Initiatives to manage transfer-related programs, oversee articulation agreements, and ensure compliance with Maryland’s Transfer with Success Act and other policies. Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain partnerships with community colleges Guide students and advisors through the transfer process Manage transfer fairs, workshops, and orientation programs Collect, analyze, and report on transfer student data Provide academic advising and career support for transfer students Requirements
BA/BS degree from an accredited institution Strong interpersonal, communication, and program management skills Experience with student information systems (Ellucian Banner, TES, ARTSYS) and data management Familiarity with transfer regulations and trends Job Duties
Partnership Development and Management:
Build and maintain relationships with Maryland and national community colleges, identifying opportunities for collaboration, articulation agreements, and creating intentional transfer pathways. Transfer Pathways Facilitation:
Provide resources on admissions, academic advising, and financial aid to guide students and community college advisors through the transfer process. Coordination of Transfer Initiatives:
Collaborate with university departments to coordinate transfer-related events such as transfer fairs, workshops, and orientation sessions. Data Analysis and Reporting:
Collect, analyze, and report on transfer student enrollment, satisfaction, and success data to support university decision-making. Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure institutional compliance with Maryland’s Transfer with Success Act, COMAR, and MHEC policies, and maintain knowledge of evolving transfer regulations and trends. Transfer Student Advising:
Provide academic advising and career exploration assistance for prospective and current transfer students, helping them transition into Morgan State University. Program and Event Management:
Lead and support promoting programs related to the Tau Sigma National Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), National Transfer Student Week, and other transfer-specific events. Administrative Oversight:
Oversee the management of transfer articulation agreements, coordinate web content updates, and collaborate on outreach materials such as brochures and newsletters. Supervision:
Supervise the Transfer Articulation and Policy Support Specialist and ensure the smooth execution of policies, agreements, and transfer-related operations. Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with other departments, such as Admissions and Student Success, to ensure seamless communication with community college partners and transfer students. Perform any additional tasks that may be assigned. Requested Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS degree from an accredited higher education institution is required. At least two years of experience in higher education, student affairs, academic advising, or a related area. Familiarity with transfer student academic development policies, advising, and partnerships. Strategic thinking, identifying and solving problems, and dealing with multiple projects simultaneously. Flexibility to deal with changing department needs. Ability to multitask, problem-solve, plan, organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through completion with attention to detail and follow-through. Work independently to meet various time deadlines and work pressures with frequent interruptions. Other Preferences for Consideration
Technical Skills
Proficient in Ellucian Banner Student Information System (SIS), or other computerized student information system. Experience with database user interface and query software similar to College Source TES, Navigate 360, and ARTSYS. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and Google applications, or use various spreadsheets, word processing, database, and presentation software. Experience with data collection, management, and report generation (Access, Excel, Sheets, Smartsheets, Hiver, etc.) Experience with social media, website management, and graphics tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Instagram) Experience with student information systems, data management, and transfer services preferred. Experience working with transfer students or a diverse student population is strongly preferred. Physical Requirements
Ability to travel to community college campuses and conferences/events A valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation are required to travel to various conferences/events. Travel may include flying. Ability to attend/conduct meetings and training within the MSU community. Occasional evening and weekend hours are required for events and programming. Lifting or carrying boxes, pushing carts, and moving items. Working at a desk, at a computer for long periods.
