The Managing Director of Capital Markets will spearhead and expand the company’s capital-raising initiatives, targeting a sophisticated network of private equity, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, registered investment advisors (RIAs), and broker-dealers. This role is instrumental in launching a new division dedicated to capital formation and investor relations, encompassing strategic oversight and management of all division operations. Responsibilities will include capital raising, investor relationship management, investor onboarding, fund administration, and investor communications to drive capital formation and ensure strong investor engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Capital Formation & Fundraising

Lead efforts to raise capital for single investments and ongoing funds, leveraging a broad network of private equity firms, family offices, RIAs, and high-net-worth investors.

Develop and execute a strategic plan for capital formation that aligns with company growth objectives.

Identify and cultivate relationships with prospective investors to expand the investor base.

Division Leadership

Establish and manage the capital formation and investor relations division, creating and implementing best practices, policies, and procedures for investor engagement, reporting, and compliance.

Set performance goals and KPIs for the division, continuously assessing and refining strategies for optimal outcomes.

Investor Relations

Serve as the primary liaison for investor communications, ensuring transparency and regular updates and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with current and potential investors.

Address investor inquiries promptly and manage expectations effectively, ensuring a high standard of customer service.

Fund Administration & Compliance

Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing management of investor reporting systems, including fund accounting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and tax reporting.

Ensure that all investor reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with industry standards and regulations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with senior leadership and other departments to align capital formation strategies with broader company objectives, facilitating clear communication around financial performance, fund status, and new investment opportunities.

Provide regular insights to executive leadership on fundraising progress and investor feedback, contributing to strategic planning.

Competencies

Demonstrated success in capital raising within private equity, high-net-worth individuals, or similar networks.

Deep knowledge of financial principles, including portfolio theory, fund accounting, and tax considerations.

Established relationships and strong network within private equity, family offices, RIAs, and high-net-worth investor communities.

Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey intricate financial information clearly to investors and senior leadership.

Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and industry standards in fund administration, compliance, and investor reporting.

Experience in developing and implementing investor reporting systems and establishing robust reporting protocols.

Education:

Master’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Professional certifications, such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent credentials.
