ORGANIZATION: Educational and Social Services Nonprofit
LOCATION: Chicago The Loop (Hybrid)
POSITION TITLE: Financial Controller
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm CST
DURATION: Temporary (~3-months with possibility of extension)
HOURLY RATE: -$38.00/hr

As the
Financial Controller,
you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing all financial operations of the organization, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting, and guiding strategic financial decision-making. This position is key in ensuring the efficient functioning of accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Our Ideal CandidateBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.5+ years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or financial management, with at least 3 years as a Controller.Familiarity with Sage Intaact, Bill.com or Salesforce.Strong knowledge of financial modeling, project analysis, and budget preparation.Active CPA license preferred.Experience working in a non-profit or educational organization, preferably with a focus on scholarship programs or foundations preferred.How You Will Spend Your Day:
Oversee budgeting, accounting, and cash management processes to ensure accurate reporting, interpretation, and analysis of financial results.Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including payroll processing and financial reporting.Prepare financial reports to the CFO, CEO and Board of Directors, including recommendations for changes and issues to be considered prior to next fiscal year.Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate financial risks.Maintain, update and develop cost allocation strategy and plans.Monitor invoicing and compliance requirements for grants and maintain grant specific audit documentation.Oversee all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring regulatory requirements and rules for non-profits
