Inspector I - Quality Assurance
We are currently looking for:
We are currently looking for an Inspector I - Quality Assurance to be based out of Albuquerque, NM. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this person will be responsible for maintaining the quality of the extruded product through testing of finished product to ensure quality control specifications. Test all raw materials for quality, density and flow so adjustments may be made for the production process.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent.
What you'll do:
Calculate and record target weight, actual weight and theoretical weight of all finished products produced from the previous dayProduce daily production reports.Check samples of pipe produced for quality control.Once a week conduct color inventory for production needs. Mix special color orders as needed.Conduct ash tests (color), burst tests and tensile tests to test strength.Communicates the results of testing to supervisors for production adjustments.Unload trucks as needed using a forklift.Confirms inventory of finished product to meet customer needs.Takes initiative to begin inventory process to meet work flow needs.Uses computer to track inventory, colors made, product shipped, production reports, and all testing records.Follows all safety requirements for this position and all company safety guidelines.Completes appropriate paperwork to ensure accurate inventory transactions.Once a month, perform visual check to verify amount of resin in silos. Safety Harness is provided to be used during the use of the ladder.Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.What you'll bring:
High school Diploma or GED1-2 years of experience performing the essential functions listed aboveAbility to perform simple math including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and take measurements.Ability to drive a forklift.Ability to use necessary equipment to conduct quality control testing.Ability to use power tools such as Table saw, Jig saw and Dremel saw.Ability to use a computer including Microsoft Excel and Outlook for email.Must display very good organization and time management skillsMust be able to consistently work under pressure and simultaneously prioritize multiple projectsMust have attention to detail and accuracy.Must be able to speak, read, write and understand EnglishWithin 3 months, you'll:
Complete any required trainingHave developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.
