Job Description:
To fulfill the needs of patients in various age groups, their family members, and the community by performing specialized patient care tasks and functions in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements.Responsibilities:Respond effectively to new and changing work environments.Provide specialty nursing care to patients.Work accurately and pay attention to details.Function competently in stressful situations and a changing work environment.Work cooperatively within the health-system, with patients and family members, and with multidisciplinary team members.Utilize effective time management to set priorities and respond quickly to emergency situations.Use critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills to effectively problem-solve and deliver care.Requirements:Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred.2 years of RN experience required plus an additional 2 years of experience in the specialty area.Computer and keyboard skills.Medical terminology required.Current State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing).Current and valid CPR certification.Effective interaction and communication skills.Special Skills:Ability to work accurately and pay attention to details.Ability to function competently in stressful situations and a changing work environment.Ability to work cooperatively within the health-system, with patients and family members, and with multidisciplinary team members.Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities and respond quickly to emergency situations.Ability to use critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills to effectively problem-solve and deliver care.Certifications:Cardiac/CHF: VHC IV CertificationDiabetes: Certified Diabetes Educator by the National Certification Board for Diabetes EducatorsEnterstomal: WOCNCB--Wound/Ostomy/Incontinence Nursing Certification by the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Certification BoardIV: VHC IV Certification required.
