The Shipping Coordinator will oversee and manage the logistics and shipping processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers and distribution partners. This role focuses on coordinating transportation, optimizing shipping schedules, and maintaining high standards of service and efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesShipping and Logistics Management :Coordinate daily shipping activities to ensure orders are processed, packaged, and shipped on schedule.Plan and optimize shipping routes to minimize costs and maximize delivery efficiency.Manage relationships with carriers, negotiate rates, and schedule transportation for outbound shipments.
Tracking and Communication :Monitor shipments and proactively address delays or issues with carriers to ensure timely delivery.Provide regular updates to internal teams and customers regarding shipment status.
Documentation and Records :Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and invoices.Ensure all shipping records comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Compliance and Safety :Ensure all shipments comply with domestic and international shipping regulations, including export documentation as needed.Maintain awareness of industry trends and regulations affecting logistics operations.
Process Improvement :Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of shipping operations.Collaborate with internal teams to resolve logistical challenges and support production schedules.
Requirements
Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.Experience :
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or a similar role.Familiarity with ERP systems and shipping software is highly desirable.
Skills :
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.Forklift Certification a plus.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).In-depth knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations and logistics strategies.
Working ConditionsPhysical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, stand, walk, and perform activities related to shipping operations. Able to withstand fluctuating weather related warehouse conditions such as heat or cold.Schedule : Full-time; occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines.
