is responsible for meeting or exceeding all standards of quality, productivity, and customer service to all residents, prospective residents, and guests in all dining rooms in accordance with property policies and procedures. Additionally, they will be responsible for hiring, evaluating, coordinating, motivating, monitoring performance, scheduling, and supervising the department staff. They will also make recommendations to the Executive Director with respect to staff evaluations, merit pay increases, reprimands, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
Responsibilities:
Supervise the service of meals to ensure maximum resident enjoyment of the dining experience and that the services are delivered to residents in a continuous, predictable, and efficient manner.Assist residents and other servers in all areas of resident meal service (salads, soup, entrees, beverages, desserts, etc.) as necessary.Responsible for ensuring the dining room POS system is operating efficiently, accurately, and timely. Trouble-shoots any problems that arise and trains staff on the use of systems.Assure compliance with all proper serving techniques/etiquette (e.g., serving from left, clearing used dishes between courses, etc.)Supervise performance of all cleaning and side work in the dining room and kitchen areas. Establish and post side work assignments for all dining room personnel on all shifts.Chart and assign dining room sections for wait staff, if neededEnsure proper set up of dining room tables and server stations with all utensils, chinaware, glassware, sugars, salt, pepper, creamers, and crackers, fill beverage machines and make coffee, juice, etc. as needed.Bus tables and return all dishes to the kitchen. Clean tables and chairs after meals and sweep, vacuum and pick up floor areas, as needed. Flip tables by replacing linens, as needed.Maintain a clean, sanitary, and clutter-free work environment at all times.Participate in formal and informal discussions to identify concerns and to confirm that recommended actions that reinforce each resident's full potential to live independently and age in place graciously.Actively participate in resident orientation programs. Develop appropriate professional relationships with residents through conversation. Remain closely involved in resident transitions to the community during meal times to help ease anxiety and promote engagement.Assist with planning of food items for Activities, Marketing, and Special Events, as requested.Qualifications :
Must be eighteen (18) years of ageMust have a high school diploma or equivalent. College course or other education in food service and/or management preferred.Prefer one (1) year of experience working in a restaurant or similar environmentPrefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employeesAble to safely operate standard household equipment (dishwasher, iron, vacuum, washer, dryer)Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)Knowledge of and/or ability to learn the theory and practice of assisted living and dementia careAble to work with seniors and patiently interact with cognitively impaired individualsAble to be flexible, adapt and respond to change, make decisions in stressful situations, and prioritize tasks and projects.Able to analyze, solve and respond to problems or concerns.Able to obtain and maintain valid first aid certificationAble to obtain and maintain valid Food Handler's certification, as neededMust pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test within 72 hours of start date.For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
