GENERAL SUMMARY

Henry Ford Hospital is conducting a search for a Director, Operational Excellence. Reporting to the Vice President, Operations. This leader will be responsible for improving the efficiency of operations for both clinical and operational ancillary services at Henry Ford Hospital. They will plan, implement, evaluate, facilitate, and continuously improve the performance of operations across multiple departments throughout the hospital. Additionally, this leader will facilitate improvements in the design, management, and execution of the institution's strategic plan and financial goals. They will actively utilize process improvement, change, project, and analytic methodologies regularly.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

· The ideal candidate will have:

· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Master's degree in business management, healthcare administration, or other related field preferred.

· Five (5) years of relevant experience, including experience developing project plans/road maps for implementation in a matrixed organization.

· Experience working on modifications within the electronic medical record preferred.

· Lean Six Sigma training preferred.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Effective oral communication skills in the following areas: active listening, assertiveness, providing feedback/coaching, mentoring, team building and conflict management.

· Strong facilitative interpersonal skills.

· Excellent problem-solving skills.

· Innovative and creative leadership style.

· Participative management style.

· Analytical skills to evaluate root causes, interventions, and outcomes.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES

Project management or process improvement (i.e., Six Sigma, Green Belt certification) certification preferred.
