POSITION SUMMARY: Originates mortgage loans. Develops referral relationships with realtors, builders, bankers, and other sources to proactively solicit business and conduct sales-related activities to meet specific loan volume origination goals. Takes applications, conducts preliminary underwriting reviews, and submits loan applications to processing. This position contributes to a positive relationship between the community, member, and the credit union.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides excellent service to both new and established members Originates loans and assists members with the loan application including explanation of first mortgage process and products while assuring compliance with PMCU, state, federal, investor and TRID standards Completes loan app, input fees, and generates loan disclosures in accordance with TRID guidelines Collect and analyze prospective clients, credit, liabilities, income, and assets to determine credit worthiness Order and understand residential appraisal reports Price and lock loans Complete HMDA on adverse loans Understand and manage mortgage loan deadlines to ensure purchase contract compliance and closing dates Submit complete file to processing within 48 hours of lock Provide continuing counsel and customer service to borrower throughout the entire loan process Assist walk-in members and telephone inquiries as needed Maintain consistent communication with members and operations staff Develops and maintain relationships with potential new business referral partners, realtors, builders, and community relationships Develop individual Sales Plan to generate additional business Assist in the marketing effort including SEG presentations, first time home buyer seminars, and community functions Participates in on-going training classes and workshops Maintains a professional image and standards consistent with company policies and procedures. Respects confidentiality of information handled Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

High school diploma or equivalent

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of state, federal, and FannieMae/FreddieMac rules and regulations Have familiarity with conventional and government mortgage loan programs (FHA/VA/USDA) and guidelines Ability to work and apply mathematical concepts such as multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proration's in calculating mortgage payments and loan estimates Attention to detail Knowledge of first mortgage products and underwriting guidelines Proficient in Encompass LOS Knowledge of loan policy, procedures, and guidelines Understanding of regulatory and legal requirements Proficient with Desktop Underwriter and Loan Prospector Ability to work without supervision, multi-task, and prioritize Knowledge of data processing on-line systems Substantial knowledge of credit union policies and services

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 2 years mortgage lending experience National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Clear verbal and written skills Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with members and staff at all levels Ability to communicate with members in common language Ability to deal with conflict and problem solve effectively Must be able to type 50-55 WPM with a 97% accuracy rate.
