The California Afterschool Network (CAN) believes the Out-of-School-Time (OST) field, including Expanded Learning, plays an essential role in advancing the health and well-being of every child. To achieve this, CAN and our partners focus on fundamentally redesigning systems to expand access to high-quality programs, support and nurture our workforce, and strengthen and align resources for children, families, and communities. What You'll Do
The Administrative Coordinators' primary responsibility, under the supervision of CAN's Director of Policy and Outreach, is to provide administrative support to the entire CAN team. The Coordinator will perform a variety of functions to support the activities and success of CAN including but not limited to scheduling and meeting supports, coordinating travel and event logistics, support with reporting and file coordination, and other general office operations.
This is a hybrid position that will require work in our Sacramento office to complete position responsibilities at least one time per week.Provide support to CAN team members to schedule virtual and in-person meetings.Manage the Executive Director calendar.Oversee the general CAN calendar, including scheduling of internal team meetings and activities.Support note-taking and meeting materials distribution as needed.Provide other administrative support for committees and workgroups as needed.Support the coordination of travel arrangements for CAN team members.Assist with event and meeting preparation and logistics (e.g., participant correspondence, materials set up, invitations/RSVPs, meeting room arrangements, catering, AV requirements, etc.)Manage shipping and mailing services for the CAN team.Support with ordering supplies and materials needed for CAN activities.Manage inventory of publications, office supplies, facilitation materials, etc. for CAN activities.Attributes for Success
A passion for Positive Youth Development and dedication to support thriving children, families, schools, and communities.Two (2) + years of relevant experience with administrative duties such as scheduling, meeting logistics, coordinating travel and event logistics, file coordination, and other general office operations.Some knowledge of /experience working in the Out-of-School Time/Expanded Learning field preferred.Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams etc.), Google Platforms (Drive, Docs, Slides, Jamboard, etc.), and Zoom/virtual meeting platforms.We're recruiting for mission-driven, passionate, equity-minded individuals
