Summary:
Supervises and coordinates the activities of the staff within the Financial Clearance Center to ensure efficient and proper collection and distribution of demographic and financial patient information. Collaborates with the Manager of the contact Center to implement management plans, and develops and recommends policies and procedures that impact specific areas of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Supervises and coordinates activities of staff involved in the pre-registration, registration, and verification functions including collecting and processing of patient information, work allocation, and problem resolution. Motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
Provides supervision to staff to include hiring, conducting performance reviews, counseling, disciplinary action, and oversee staff educational development.
Approves various transactions including charity/uninsured allowances, discounts, and initiation of service deferral.
Maintains liaisons with administrative and support personnel to coordinate efforts in resolving problems concerning financial counseling.
Assists in the preparation of reports and analyses, setting forth progress, and adverse trends and makes appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
Represents the Danbury Hospital Patient Access Department at meetings.
Ensures resource management is in line with departmental needs based on expanded hours of operation and physical location of workplace.
Plans and conducts meetings with subordinates to ensure compliance with established practices, to implement new policies and keep employees abreast of current changes and standards.
Provides department specific training or assists in the delivery of training curriculum.
Ensures the highest quality and timely delivery of services and customer service standards of excellence.
Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: BACHELOR'S LVL DGRE
Other Information:
Required: PC literate, highly customer service oriented.
Minimum Experience: seven years or more
Desired: National Association of Healthcare Mgmt (NAHAM) certification.
