Job Description:
The primary duties for this position include but are not limited to providing resource and support PEDSID faculty and staff in the area of research administration and grants management including:
Interpret regulations and guidelines of program funding for complex grant applications Review requests for proposals to help identify specific requirements and policies that must be met to conduct the research/submit proposals Assist investigators in preparation, review, and input into UFIRST enters and manages proposals, agreements, modifications, and awards utilizing UFIRST and PeopleSoft Financials Grants. NOAs are issued and projects are setup Provide technical assistance to PI, research administration staff, and other persons and key stakeholders related to fiscal management and budget development for fourteen funding sources. Read and interpret award notices and other award documents to determine budget, invoicing schedule, restrictions, and other pertinent information with PI and research director with Division’s Federal grants and Industry Trials budget development based on input, historical trends, forecasts, invoicing, and projections for contracts and grants Provides post-award administration and management of research portfolio tracking approval and progress using UFIRST, MYInvestigator, and PeopleSoft Financials and provide updates Analyze expenses, develop cost projects, and provide financial tracking and fiscal control for required reporting to grant agencies and collaborative partners Provide basic accounts payable and travel requests and reimbursements functions Process invoices and prepares comprehensive statements & reports on monthly and quarterly basis for all research projects providing PI with reports of grants and contracts to ensure expenses are being paid according to the contract Assist in the preparation of IRB applications for RO1, P01, UM1 research portfolio and pharma clinical trials
Assists with Effort Reporting, faculty and staff distribution reports.
Ensures grants, contracts, and CTs are properly expensed and closed in a timely manner in collaboration with the finance manager, PI, and research director.
Coordinates the patient-center research including organizing meetings, keeping minutes, sending updates to PI, research director, and research coordinators to include participant recruitment efforts and advising all key stakeholders.
Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the projects and ensure all policies are adhered to by PI, research director, and research coordinators.
Expected Salary:
$61,000 to $70,000 annually depending on education and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in grant and contract administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
CRA preferred.
At least 3 years of experience managing and or coordinating projects and grants with a good understanding of research procedures.
Including strong financial and compliance functions for research grants, contracts, and clinical trials with knowledge of commonly-used accounting concepts, OMB 2 CFR 200, practices and procedures.
Strong knowledge of NIH, CT’s, federal agency funding mechanisms with critical deadlines and changing priorities.
Knowledge of database systems, People Soft, UFIRST, Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word.
