Job Description
Develops and maintains a level of product and market/account knowledge to efficiently and effectively assist customers and perform sales and marketing administrative duties.
Maintains a positive rapport with key internal contacts and develops a strong understanding of internal systems and processes
Monitors the sales voicemail and email inboxes and responds promptly and professionally to problems, inquiries and opportunities through personal action or by securing assistance and support from others within the organization.
Acts as primary customer point of contact for pricing inquiries and preparation of standard quotes.
Provides sales support by assisting with response preparation to contracts and RFPs.
Responsible for maintaining company marketing lists in the appropriate systems including aspects of list management and reporting such as list cleansing and investigation of email bounces
Enters account, contact and opportunity-related data and notes from sales and marketing activities into the CRM and ERP systems as appropriate.
Assists with trade show coordination including booth staff registration and ordering of promotional items, business cards and booth materials as directed
Provides sales and marketing administrative support and conducts special projects as assigned. This may include outbound phone calls to existing or prospective customers.
May assist in the execution of sales and marketing activities including email marketing and social media as well as making updates to website content at the direction of Marketing and Product Management
Provides backup coverage for the primary incoming company phone line, responding promptly and professionally to customer calls, triaging inquiries and responding to or forwarding as appropriate to the appropriate internal teams.
Maintains all company supplied equipment and material in a safe and useable/serviceable condition.
Travels as required to support sales and marketing activities. Travel is expected to be 0-5% for this role.
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
Prior experience in a professional customer-facing role (customer service, sales, marketing etc.), preferably in a business-to-business sales environment.
Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) or equivalent experience in relevant business office roles.
Reliable and dependable both in terms of assignment completion and attendance.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work on a computer sitting still at a desk for long periods of time (up to 6-8 hours per day).
Displays a professional demeanor and positive attitude with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal). Strong customer focus.
Demonstrates a high degree of organization and effective time management skills with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and initiatives, completing assignments on time.
Ability to follow instructions with strong attention to detail in compliance with company policies. Operates efficiently and effectively without the need for close supervision.
High level of customer orientation with a solid understanding of customer service best practices. Able to keep accurate records of customer interactions.
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Flexible and positive attitude with the willingness to take on new assignments and the ability to learn new skills quickly. Is able to use creativity to solve problems
Acts with integrity and honesty in all business interactions.
Must be able to travel to industry events via common carriers (plane, train, automobile) as required and possess a valid U.S. driver’s license (expected travel is 0-5%).
Must be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
The ideal candidate:
Has experience in the use of CRM (customer relationship management) tools.
Is familiar with the creation of marketing surveys using SurveyMonkey
Has prior experience with tradeshow planning and event coordination
Possesses experience with Linked In and social media campaign management
Is familiar with Google Adwords and updating website content
Demonstrates an interest in science
