Northrop Grumman Defense Sector is seeking a Contract Administrator (Level 2)/Principal Contract Administrator (Level 3) to join its team of qualified, and diverse professionals. This position will be located in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Candidates that are able to work from another Northrop Grumman site may be considered. This position is contingent upon award.
The successful applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Defense Sector and will support the F-16 Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Product Support Integration (PSI) contract, which will provide repairs, engineering services and other sustainment services for F-16 aircraft customers around the world. Candidate must be a self-starter and able to work collaboratively with a small team of contracts administrators. Candidate must have knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS). Candidate must also have experience with and aptitude for managing contracts within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
In this role, the selected candidate will:
Work complex assignments independently
Lead administration activities pertaining to contract closeout
Enter and manage data in the financial and delivery systems
Support additional duties/tasks that may apply in order to achieve shared goals of the organization
Will support the closeout team, and will work closely with contract administrators, subcontract administrators, business management, security, property, and the final billing team to ensure efficient closure of contracts (government/commercial).
In addition, this candidate will support a team managing canceling funds annually with the government.
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications Contract Administrator (Level 2):
This position emphasizes skills and experience. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 7 years of relevant experience. Will consider at least 3 years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s Degree; or at least 1 Year with Masters in a related field.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, strong emphasis on Excel
Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS as well as experience with different contract types is required
Ability to efficiently and effectively research FAR/DFAR information.
Ability to understand regulatory changes and their impact on contracts/subcontracts.
Experience in basic accounting principles
Basic Qualifications Contract Administrator (Level 3):
This position emphasizes skills and experience. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 10 years of relevant experience. Will consider at least 6 years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s Degree; or at least 4 Year with Masters in a related field.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, strong emphasis on Excel
Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS as well as experience with different contract types is required
Ability to efficiently and effectively research FAR/DFAR information.
Ability to understand regulatory changes and their impact on contracts/subcontracts.
Experience in basic accounting principles

SAP knowledge/experience
Experience in the defense industry
Basic understanding of Government contracting requirements
Ability to learn and utilize various data entry software tools and to adapt with changes to those tools
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers
Ability to work independently
Salary Range: $59,000 - $103,200
Salary Range 2: $72,600 - $127,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
