Position Summary
The Warehouse Worker will perform a combination of tasks to load, unload, and move material and parts in and around the manufacturing facility. You will also be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the inventory.
Essential Functions of the Job
Fills work orders, requests for materials or other stock items distributing items to production workers
Utilizes forklift or manually unloads materials to/from pallets, racks, and shelves delivered to the BU
Receives materials into the inventory management system, placing at the proper location within the production system
Assists with maintaining inventory accuracy and monthly cycle counts by conducting weekly audits of the MRD system
Works on projects to continuously improve visual re-order points for MRD materials
Updates the expedite communications boards throughout the day as business is conducted
Responsible for working closely with production staff to ensure non-conforming materials are identified and are accurately processed in a timely manner
Knowledge, Skills and, Abilities (KSA's)
Excellent customer service skills with production operations
Proficient with computers demonstrating your ability to work efficiently in the business system; EXCEL skills preferred
Working in a collaborative environment while communicating effectively with supervisors and fellow employees
Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
Able to work overtime and/or including weekends, as production schedules dictate
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Licensed forklift operator or able to become licensed
Knowledge of Lean Principles preferred
Knowledge of "point of use" inventory, the use of "pull" systems, and NPD processes a plus
Working Conditions
Able to perform work in a non-climate-controlled metal manufacturing production environment
Must be able to work in an environment with noise (using 25 decibel earplugs) at 75 decibels
Must be able to be on your feet, on concrete, for 90% of shift and walk up to 75% of the time
Must be able to climb 13ft by way of 12-inch rung ladders
Must be able to lift, push and or pull up to 40lbs and carry that weight 5ft
Must be able to bend, stoop and crouch
