for our Rocket Center, WV

business unit. This position will report to the Weapons Division Sr. Director of Global Supply Chain. This facility is a premier Northrop Grumman location with extreme corporate visibility and is dedicated to the manufacture of tactical propulsion & ordnance and fuze & warhead products.
Position Overview
The Director of Global Supply Chain provides leadership to, Material Program Managers (MPMs), Material Planners, Stores, Receiving, and Shipping personnel. The position will be responsible for evolving the supply chain structure, defining strategic objectives, and integrating the GSC strategy with the MP business strategic plan. The Director of Global Supply Chain is responsible for effective communication with the procurement team, improving supplier quality and on-time delivery, timely decision making, personnel development, effective management of MP and supplier resources, and embracing a continuous improvement philosophy. In addition, the director is responsible for all aspects of managing material and inventory on plant to ensure parts arrive in-time to support production schedules based on program/customer demand.
Responsibilities for the Director of Supply Chain
Ability to set operational targets, strategic discriminators, and manage a team to achieve them
Deploy demand driven supply chain strategies, processes and tools that support operational excellence and long range plans
Be an expert in supplier management, called upon to lead and develop unique responses to complex business challenges
Understand supplier SOPs and planning, purchasing, and manufacturing workflows and processes in order to drive continuous improvement
Drive cost savings by long term pricing agreements, design for manufacturing collaboration with Engineering to achieve product features at optimal costs, and understanding cost drivers, raw materials pricing, and market factors
Negotiate and implement cost-saving programs with suppliers, such as volume-based discounts, operational efficiencies, raw material procurement, lead time improvements, etc.
Develop and challenge resources to improve performance through systems utilization and process improvements
Lead initiatives to ensure continuity of supply throughout the operations to achieve uninterrupted supply of quality components
Knowledge of contracting protocols (FAR/DFAR), including resourcefulness to seek guidance from legal counsel as required and ensure MMAS compliance is maintained
Ability to construct milestone payment plans that balance cash flow
Identify early warning signs of supplier issues, gathering information and developing action plans to resolve
Conduct long-term planning with suppliers to ensure that supplier capacity stays ahead of demand
Build trust with suppliers, and internal customers, communicating, influencing, and motivating others to think creatively and efficiently
Serve as a positive change agent. Create a compelling work environment for employee engagement, training and career development
Support Northrop Grumman Digital Transformation initiatives and lead continuous improvement activities within the overall Global Supply Chain department
Ensure explosive materials are stored and inventoried properly within FAR/DFAR and DCMA Safety requirements
Requirements for the Director of Supply Chain
Prior work experience supporting Department of Defense contracts and/or manufacturing organization
Minimum of 15+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, sourcing, technical management and/or manufacturing
Sr. Manager/Director level experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting, or Engineering, MBA preferred
Minimum of 10 years of experience in leading and developing staff, including performance and compensation management, proven mentoring and coaching skills, managing conflict and administering performance improvement plans as needed
Demonstrated effectiveness in achieving results through understanding and management of internal customer relationships, prioritization, and delegation of tasks
Desired knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001, Six Sigma and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project)
U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance to a level of secret
Position requires some travel

Salary Range:
$164,600 - $247,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
