As part of our Embedded Flight Software team, you will work on real-time, performance-critical software for spacecraft systems, covering development from early concepts through final deployment. This role offers hands-on experience in developing and optimizing embedded and flight software, accelerating key functions on space hardware, and learning to meet stringent real-time performance needs. You will gain experience at every phase of the spacecraft program including design, analysis, manufacturing, test, and flight. RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement, and test real-time embedded software for spacecraft systemsPerform requirements review and verification analysis, test plan and coverage analysis, and develop inputs to review documentationAssist with system integration, testing, and flight software deploymentOptimize embedded software for timing, efficiency, and performance on specialized hardwareHands on support for component, system, and spacecraft integration of electronicsCollaborate with other mechanical, thermal, electrical, firmware, and software engineers to ensure the best product is deliveredDrive improvements to minimize cost and schedule while maximizing reliability and capabilityQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related fieldFoundational experience with real-time or embedded systems, microcontroller or microprocessor-based developmentProficiency in C or C++ and RustFamiliarity with FPGA fundamentals and an eagerness to develop FPGA-based solutions for real-time applicationsFamiliarity with reading schematics and data sheets for componentsFamiliarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and software for low-latency applicationsKnowledge of different IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystemsPassion for the space industryDemonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary teamDemonstrated ability to work autonomously with little input on requirements or management oversightExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Exposure to Rust programming for performance-sensitive systemsExperience developing and/or producing embedded software for space applicationsBasic experience with System Verilog and/or FPGA development for performance-critical applicationsKnowledge of hardware/software co-design and real-time performance tuningFamiliarity with simulation tools and performance profilersInterest in real-time acceleration techniques, such as DMA, optimized memory access, or hardware offloadingCOMPENSATION
Base Salary:
$87,000-$105,000 for Embedded Software Engineer I; $110,000-$136,000 for Embedded Software Engineer IIEquity + Benefits
including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental LeaveYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience

Ability to maintain or obtain TS//SCI clearanceWork Location -this role will be onsite at our GravityWorks factory in Centennial, CO. Expectation to be in the office 4+ days per week.Work environment -the work environment; temperature, noise level, inside or outside, or other factors that will affect the person's working conditions while performing the job.Physical demands -the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.
