About the Role
The Company is excited to announce an opening for the Director of R&D Initiatives, a critical role in our efforts to advance fusion technology and drive the development of clean power plants globally. This position holds significant responsibility in managing an array of innovative R&D projects aimed at addressing the pressing challenge of climate change.
As the Director, you will lead a team of skilled technical project managers, ensuring that each project is executed with excellence and aligned with our mission-driven approach. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Director of R&D Engineering and the Chief Science Officer, working to achieve ambitious goals in a rapidly evolving field.
The ideal candidate will possess at least 15 years of experience delivering complex high-tech projects, with a demonstrated ability to manage a large project portfolio across diverse disciplines. Your problem-solving skills and technical expertise, particularly in fusion systems and superconducting magnet technology, will be essential to your success.
Experience in R&D settings focusing on large hardware and testing is crucial, as is familiarity with matrix organizational structures. An advanced degree in engineering or related fields is preferred, and a commitment to safety in industrial environments is a must. We seek a passionate leader who values integrity, impact, and continuous self-improvement, ready to make a significant difference in the clean energy sector.
