Specialty: RN. Job entails duties within the TRAUMA/ORTHO/MED-SURG unit at RAPIDES REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER. Day Shift structure: 1 Charge, 3 RNs, 3 LPNs, 3 PCTs, and 1 secretary. Night Shift structure: 1 Charge, 3 RNs, 3 LPNs, 3 PCTs. Patient Ratios: Nurse/Patient = 6:1. Type of equipment handled includes IV pumps, Wound Vacs, SCD pumps, Kangaroo Pumps, Chest Tubes, Telemetry, PCA pumps, and Bipaps. The unit expects candidates to be team players with critical thinking skills. Candidates with Med-Surg experience are necessary, while prioritization and time management skills are preferred. Typical procedures performed: Wound Vac changes, Wound Care, IV insertions, Insertion of Indwelling Foley Catheters. Job Requirements

Contract is for 13 weeks. Weekends: Every other weekend shifts required. On Call: Potential on-call shifts when Census is low. Unit Specific Information
Unit Information: 36 beds, 49 staff for 36 patients. Floating Areas include 6A, 3A, 3South, 4South. Dress Code: Ceil Blue scrubs; no sweatshirts, no crocs. See Policies and Procedures for Unit Guidelines/Policies.
