Major/Essential Functions:
Administer comprehensive post-award financial support of university sponsored projects by collaborating with institutional constituents and external sponsors to provide guidance and customer service related to managing sponsored projects.
Responsible for managing portions of the post-award financial life cycle of award process, which include: award setup, processing award budgets, maintaining proper award files, preparing & submitting invoices/reports, refunds, assist with accounts receivable, collection efforts, coordinating necessary meetings, award closeout, and contribute to document retention efforts.
Initiate proper transactions within the university financial system(s) and assist with monitoring account records for compliance and accuracy.
Complete assigned compliance reviews and coordinate with various campus offices to address identified risks.
review requests related to sponsored projects and coordinate necessary communication between campus offices and sponsoring agencies to ensure appropriate regulation and institutional policies are met.
Assist in completing strategic initiatives for Research Accounting related to the goals and mission of Accounting Services and Texas Tech University.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in research administration (including Federal regulations and institutional policy), fund accounting, working with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and working in TTU specific systems (Banner, FiTS, TechBuy, BRS, Cognos, etc.). Experience delivering customer service both in person and via email/phone. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Accounting or finance degree, CPA or CPA candidate, CRA/CFRA/CPRA or candidate.

The Texas Tech Accounting Services department is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research Administrator to join our Grants Management Team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the post-award financial and compliance functions of sponsored projects by handling financial records and addressing a high volume of questions requiring knowledge of internal and external regulations to make independent judgment calls. This position relies on a strong understanding of grant and contract administration, financial management, and compliance regulations.
