Our team is responsible for developing and supporting the investment data platform to provide streamlined and governed access to trusted data. The team handles integration to third-party vendors and/or internal data stores as needed so that the back-end implementation is not exposed to consumers. Technologies used by the team include Snowflake, DBT, AWS, Kubernetes.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain an investment data platform running on Snowflake data cloudEnable cloud modernization at scale by developing, releasing, and maintaining repeatable patternsApplies engineering best practices in order to analyze and develop software solutions.Develops software using established development and continuous integration practices.Utilizes established monitoring and automation processes.Conducts code evaluations.Participates in setting team standards and best practices.
QualificationsBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.1-3 years professional experience required.Familiarity using continuous integration and deployment conceptAt least 1 year experience with PythonAt least 1 year experience with one or more: Java, JavaScript, React, SQLFamiliarity with public cloud and associated technologies (AWS, Azure, Containerization)Basic understanding of SQLBasic understanding of Agile methodologies and dev-ops environmentStrong technical skills.Able to mentor new team members.Can communicate clearly to the businessSelf-motivated and able to independently execute a planPreferred QualificationsExperience with AWS serverless patterns, CI/CD using GitLab and deployment using terraformExperience using data cloud platforms such as Databricks or SnowflakeUnderstanding of investment management business domain is a plusCompensation Range:Pay Range - Start:$82,670.00
Pay Range - End:$153,530.00
Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
