The Manager, Occupational Medicine, Prevention and Wellness will design and manage revenue generating injury prevention and wellness programing and on-site service for the Occupational Medicine Service Line. The Manager will oversee the Athletic Trainers who provide health care services and clinical prevention/wellness services to all external clients. The Manager will manage all off-site health care clinics/programs/staff currently being serviced by the Care Now service line.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and develop structured, compressive on-site prevention and wellness programming for Occupational Medicine companies/clients.
Implement and provide clinical injury prevention and wellness services for companies as it relates to first aid, triage, injury care, treatment, or education to address employee injury and illness.
Serves as the Director for the Athletic Training Prevention and Wellness Residency at St. Luke’s University Health Network (Assignment Represents 25% of Time). Responsibilities include supervision of AT Residents, accreditation work and ongoing recruitment, selection and hiring of quality residents.
Design and develop referral system for external clients to facilitate continued care offered by the Network, including but not limited to orthopedic care, mental health services, health and nutrition, and physical fitness.
Capture referral data and demonstrate referral revenue and Network ROI.
Responsible for the management of all off-site clinics/programming. Will handle staff schedules/budgets/contracts/payroll for all SLUHN employees employed at these sites. Operate within OSHA Compliance in regard to medical care provided on-site. Clinical work is completed under the Scope of Practice provided by the St. Luke’s Occupational Medicine Directing Physician.
Act as a liaison between client companies including management, union leaders, executive and employees and the Occupational Medicine Department Leadership.
Assumes primary responsibility for scouting and assisting the Network in establishing Occupational Medicine prevention and wellness service related contracts.
Create a sales model and execution template for growth of wellness and prevention programs and on-site services. Identify potential clients and present on-site service opportunities, while keeping an accurate log of visits, sales opens and closes.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sit up to 2 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Stand for up to 8 hours per day; 6 hours at a time. Walk 6 hours per day; 20 minutes at a time. Occasionally lift, carry, and push objects up to 30 pounds. Transport patients weighing up to 250 pounds via wheelchair. Frequently stoop and bend. Frequently reach above shoulder level. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation, and high and low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color, and peripheral vision. Travel up to 50% of time via private motor vehicle.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited, professional athletic training education program with a minimum of a Master’s Degree required. Active Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Athletic Training License required.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in athletic training and sports medicine. Fluency in Spanish language preferred. Experience in the industrial setting and occupational medicine is required..
