Role to launch with oversight of accounts receivable and accounts payable activities in first year with scope expanding to include oversight of customer tooling, fixed assets and other various accounting functions in the second year. This hands-on, experienced accounting leader will oversee a group of 6+ accounting professionals and will be instrumental in guiding the group through technology enhancements and other process improvements that reduce waste and improve productivity and quality. include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Review our current Internal Control system to gain an understanding that any continuous improvements made to improve efficiencies must still satisfy internal control requirements.
Oversee all accounts receivable functions including collections and month end processingUnderstand and provide guidance with invoicing systems and how it impacts our general ledgerOversee all accounts payable functionsBecome the administrator for our Accounts Payable processing softwareFamiliarize oneself with payables system to help team to achieve greater efficiency through the systems available functionalityReview and file Sales and Use tax returns to various states and annual 1099 filing.Review and Approve weekly payments to vendorsAttend monthly product team meetings to review customer tooling and fixed asset implementation.Oversee and review the fixed asset accounting at all of our facilitiesOversee annual fixed asset inventoryCommunicate with the Sales team in order to be aware and accrue for any sales price adjustmentsReduce accounting close time through process improvementSupport the annual internal audit team effort.Support the annual external auditExpected travel is less than 10% (requires travel to Mexican facilities).Qualifications
We are searching for an approachable, hands-on leader that collaborates with staff on problem solving. Must have demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams through major process improvements by defining future state and guiding / supporting team to achieve vision (i.e. vision, collaborative, creative problem solver, resourceful).The qualified candidate will rack record of improving processes, reducing waste and improving productivity and quality (e.g. shortening accounting close cycles). The leader must be naturally interested in learning new systems and software applications to effectively implement solutions that increase productivity and accuracy. The successful candidate will thrive in an autonomous environment with minimal direction from leadership. They must enjoy intellectual challenges, open-minded, data-driven, respects evidence and reasoning, actively seeks out different points of view to build one's conclusion or disprove it.
