The worldwide Revenue Accounting team is seeking a Revenue Director with extensive technical accounting experience in ASC 606 to join our team.
This role is part of the newly created team within the Global Revenue Accounting team, with the vision to provide dedicated support and business partnership within the quote-to-cash team in the following areas: mergers and acquisitions (revenue assessment and integration planning and execution), new business model, transformation and system automation projects.
Responsibility of the role includes:
Providing revenue assessment for new business models either through mergers and acquisitions or Company’s own initiatives.
Leading acquisition integration activities for the revenue accounting team. Role includes understanding companies being acquired, designing interim revenue accounting processes prior to full integration ensuring overall revenue policy and operations alignment.
Reviewing software license, hardware, and services contracts and determining the most appropriate revenue accounting per relevant authoritative literature (e.g. ASC 606, ASC 842) and internal revenue recognition policies.
Preparing contract memos highlighting key arrangement components and the five steps required for revenue recognition under ASC 606.
Preparing analytical reports pertaining to revenue-related accounts on a recurring and ad hoc basis.
Participating in quarterly reviews and annual audits conducted by internal and external auditors, including SOX 404 requirements.
Performing quarter-end close activities, which may include posting journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and executing daily revenue transactions to ensure revenue is properly captured in the financial system.
Contributing to or driving special projects as needed.
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
CPA or equivalent professional certification required.
10-15 years of relevant experience, including Big 4 public accounting and/or industry experience in a multi-national company.
Strong in-depth knowledge of ASC 606 rules and working knowledge of ASC 842.
Ability to think outside the box, comfortable with ambiguity and provide suggestions and guidance in a large group setting.
Ability to communicate highly technical or complex matters to individuals with varying degrees of experience in the subject matter.
Proven ability as a collaborative cross functional partner with strong business and operational acumen.
Strong execution and project management skills.
Ability to work independently to drive projects to closure and as part of a team.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to manage and develop a team.
Experience in leading accounting system implementation is a plus.
The annual salary range for California is $156,800 to $291,200. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
