Job Title: Occupational Health Nurse - Level 2

Location: Onsite Upper Providence, Philadelphia, and Upper Merion, PA (resource will be required to report to all 3 locations during the week - schedule TBD)

Hours/Schedule: 40/hrs week

Type: contract - potential for extension and/or conversion to full-time employee

Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical occupational health nursing services including vaccinations and phlebotomy services and travel health when needed - location specific. Engage in emergency management for acute injuries including referrals and reporting to Stakeholders including Environmental Safety Services, disability management, workers compensation and Federal OSHA standards.

• Compliance and accountability for surveillance programs related to employee health in the pharmaceutical industry in research and development and manufacturing areas.

• Deliver independent high quality clinical nursing services in the pharmaceutical environment with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders including other RNs, Nurse Practitioners, Lead Physician, Security, Environmental Safety services, management, and employees. Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team-environment using technological resources.

• Specific nursing skills include assessments and management of both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses and emergency medical response in accordance with OH Work Instructions and Medical Directives. Participates and supports emergency response team and trainings. (site specific)

• Support employees with filing Workers Compensation claims for work related illness and injury including clear communications with claims managers and work instructions on process to employee.

Assist with disability management referrals and employee accommodation approvals as an iterative process with employees, managers, human resources, legal and specific medical needs to accommodate employee while also meeting business demands.

• Liaises with Environmental health services as a medical consultant to assist with employee incident and illness treatments and investigation. Participate in meetings/communications to assist with identification of actual and potential trends to ensure resolution of unsafe conditions.

Participates in workplace ergonomic assessments with various stakeholder to identify risks and develop ergonomic solution recommendations.

• Deliver preventive health initiatives in collaboration with benefits and OH partners. This includes personal health education, health promotion, health fairs, health screenings and safety training on selected occupational safety topics.

Requirements:

Knowledge and experience with occupational medicine is preferred.

Minimum Level of Education: RN - Licensure to work as a registered nurse requires this level of education.

Preferred Level of Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Bachelors degree affords additional training in writing and math, both of which are desirable for occupational health services delivery.
