At SanMar, the work you do makes a difference. What's the Short Version? The Cloud Systems Engineer provisions, manages, monitors and decommissions cloud-based services. They respond to system degradation or outages, track and monitor the status of the infrastructure, create and maintain system documentation, and implement and test disaster recovery plans. They are also responsible for automating processes and serving as escalation for support issues related to the company's cloud solutions. What Will You Be Doing? Partner with Cloud Architects to help select, develop, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure, applications, and services that meet the organization's requirements. Migrate select workloads from on-premises infrastructure to the cloud. Monitor the performance of cloud-based systems and optimize resources to ensure cost-effectiveness and high availability. Create system documentation/playbook(s) and participate as a reviewer and contributor in requirements and solution design. Develop and manage hybrid cloud environments, integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud services to optimize performance and cost-efficiency. Implement automation and orchestration techniques to streamline cloud provisioning, configuration, and management processes. Serves as the subject matter expert on data center/cloud technologies. Partner with experienced team members to develop accurate estimates. Develop, implement, and maintain automation processes to improve efficiency and service recoverability. Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity. Partner with Cybersecurity team to implement security best practices and regularly audit the cloud environment to ensure compliance. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure business continuity. Participate in on-call support rotation and escalate to vendors as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards. What Are We Looking For? Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent experience. 4-6 years of progressive experience in a cloud computing role. Knowledge of multi-tier architectures: load balancers, caching, web servers, application servers, databases, and networking. Experience managing and supporting cloud-based infrastructure and applications. Familiarity with deployment techniques and tools in a distributed environment. Experience with templates and other configurable items to enable automation. Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud). Cloud certifications are preferred. Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python and/or PowerShell. Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker Swarm, Kubernetes) is a plus. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) for automated provisioning and configuration. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical subject matter to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface daily with internal customers. What's Our Offer? Salary Range: Youll earn between $100,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on experience. Bonus: Youll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 10% of base salary. Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 112 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.
