Job Description Summary

GE Vernova is on a journey to establish a robust Portfolio Management Office (PMO). We are seeking a dedicated PMO Specialist to support the NAM PMO team on designing and implementing this strategic function. The PMO Specialist will focus on establishing and maintaining effective project management processes, governance frameworks, and control mechanisms to ensure the successful delivery of portfolio projects across GE Vernova.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

PMO Design and Implementation:

Assist in the design and establishment of the Portfolio Management Office, including the development of governance frameworks, standards, and processes specific to GE Vernova.

Contribute to the creation of templates, tools, and methodologies tailored to support effective portfolio management within GE Vernova.

Support the implementation and rollout of PMO processes across the organization.

Governance and Compliance:

Ensure all portfolio projects comply with GE Vernova's policies, procedures, and standards.

Develop and maintain a compliance tracking system for portfolio projects.

Project Monitoring and Reporting:

Track portfolio project progress against schedules, budgets, and deliverables.

Generate and distribute comprehensive portfolio status reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.

Identify, analyse, and report on project risks and issues within the portfolio.

Process Improvement:

Continuously evaluate and improve portfolio management processes and tools specific to GE Vernova.

Provide training and support to project managers and teams on PMO standards and best practices.

Implement lessons learned from completed projects into the PMO methodology.

RAID Management:

Develop and maintain a risk management framework for the PMO.

Facilitate risk assessment workshops and risk mitigation planning for portfolio projects.

Monitor and report on project risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with the PMO leader, Business Unit leads, Operations, PMs, sponsors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with portfolio goals.

Facilitate portfolio governance meetings and review sessions.

Provide guidance and support to project teams on PMO processes and requirements.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management or PMO roles.

Desired Characteristics

Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Planview, MSP).

PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is desirable.

Experience in risk management and mitigation.

Experience in portfolio management is desirable.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
