Manufacturing Trainer Responsibilities: Instruct and demonstrate safe machine procedures and operation primarily on the shop floor environment using established curriculum (may instruct in a lab or classroom setting as needed). Deliver, facilitate and evaluate engaging "On-the-Job-Training" (OJT) activities at the shop floor level. Provide subject matter expertise on equipment such as: CNC equipment including laths, mills, machining centers, and CNC grinders such as a CNC surface grinder, CNC ID/OD grinders. CNC machines with up to 5 axis capabilities. Manual equipment including lathes, mills, surface grinders, jig, cylindrical, Blanchard, centerless, or ID/OD grinders, drill press, sawing equipment Stamping including setting a die in a press and setting-up to run product Electroplating Provide timely and appropriate level of instruction, from beginner to advanced, for manufacturing shop floor positions, and established apprenticeship programs. Demonstrate all machine related safety and quality plans in accordance with company programs and policies. Maintain training records to document shop floor training. Records can include qualification records, logs, skills evaluations, attendance, and grades to ensure compliance for state registered and in-house apprenticeship programs. Support new hires to ensure a positive onboarding and on-the-job training experience. Provide tutoring or remedial training as needed. Maintain technical expertise, and keep abreast of new instructional methods, equipment advancements and new processes. Seek ways to evaluate and continually improve efficiency and effectiveness of work processes, curriculum, training materials and training programs. Qualifications

Manufacturing Trainer Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills: Areas of expertise to include precision measurement tools, blueprint reading, machining and grinding machinery and equipment. A demonstrated knowledge of expertise of machine set-up and safe operation in TWO OR MORE AREAS OF THE FOLLOWING: CNC equipment including laths, mills, machining centers, and CNC grinders such as a CNC surface grinder, CNC ID/OD grinders. CNC machines can have 5 axis capabilities Manual equipment including lathes, mills, surface grinders, jig, cylindrical, Blanchard, centerless, or ID/OD grinders, drill press, sawing equipment Stamping including setting a die in a press and setting-up to run product Electroplating Proficient in CNC Programming with G & M code Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Key instructor traits including patience, good judgement, tolerance, desire to teach and commitment to student development and educational excellence. Outstanding interpersonal skills and confident in speaking to small groups. Ability and desire to learn and then teach additional manufacturing skills, as needed, within the Penn United Technologies' campuses. Able to quickly learn required computer software. Ex ellent organizational skills, self-motivated, able to effectively manage multiple tasks and work with minimal supervision. Strong ability to professionally communicate using both verbal and written skills. Education /Experience Journeyworker Machinist certificate or equivalent experience operating manual and automated CNC machining/precision grinding equipment Minimum 8-10 years of manufacturing experience in two or more areas of machining, precision grinding, tool & die, and/or progressive stamping press Must be able to obtain required clearances for working with minors Must have and maintain valid driver's license Must have the ability to stand and work in a manufacturing environment, use all personal protective equipment appropriate to the manufacturing area, and lift up to 35 lbs. High School Diploma or equivalent Shift: Typical hours are Monday through Friday daylight shift. However, flexibility and willingness to work an occasional non-daylight shift is needed as training needs necessitate
