License and Certification Qualifications: None required.Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Manage, lead and develop Operations support staff team members.a. Manage the performance of team members through adherence to the GCPS Performance Management framework.b.
Identify opportunities for growth and development for team members and pursue as appropriate.c. Manage the reporting of time for all team members.d. Manage absences of team members to ensure continuation of services.2.
Coordinate front-line customer service and support for all GCPS Transportation customers, both internal and external.a.
Establish and maintain standard administrative processes for the decentralized operations of the Department of Transportation.b.
Supervise and monitor transportation customer service operations through the establishment of standard customer service best practices.c.
Review and edit transportation communications.d.
Ensure adequate coverage for the answering, handling and routing of all calls received on the main GCPS transportation phone line.3.
Manage the federally mandated Drug and Alcohol Program to meet both federal and state requirements for all Commercial Driver's License (CDL) holders at the district.a.
Manage Random Drug and Alcohol screenings, Post Accident Drug and Alcohol screenings, Reasonable Suspicion screenings, and Return to Duty screenings.b.
Maintain Drug and Alcohol Records to meet federal and state mandated standards.c.
Oversee the Drug and Alcohol testing records for the post-offer health physicals of Bus Manager applicants.d.
Provide Drug and Alcohol testing information to former employees when requested by a new employer.4.
Manage the GCPS Transportation department budget.a.
Prepare the annual budget with direction from the Executive Director of Transportation.b.
Manage the budget throughout the year, tracking actual expenditures against planned spending and making adjustments where needed to stay under-budget.c.
Coordinate all financial transactions to ensure accurate reporting.5.
Serve as the purchasing specialist for the Department of Transportation.a.
Coordinate and monitor the purchasing of supplies for all internal departments and satellite facilities.b.
Research and shop for competitive pricing on non-standard purchases.c.
Manage furniture and equipment purchases.d.
Oversee printing services for the department.e.
Coordinate travel, lodging and conference arrangements for Transportation staff as needed.f.
Maintain vendor relationships with service providers.6.
Secure meeting locations and make room reservations for GCPS Transportation meetings of small to large size.a.
Coordinate meeting logistics including number of planned attendees and secure conference room with enough seating to accommodate all attendees.b.
Utilize other meeting space (Hurricane Shoals classrooms, Suwanee facility) if rooms are not available when needed.7.
Manage the timely and accurate execution of all Print Shop orders for the GCPS Transportation departmenta.
Submit print orders for GCPS Transportation department through GCPS Print Shop order management system.b. Update requesting party on turnaround time and expected delivery date.c. Receive proof from Print Shop and verify for accuracy before proceeding with order.d. Verify accuracy of job upon receipt.8.
Assist with special projects within the Department of Transportation.a.
Assist with special projects that align with departmental goals and objectives.b.
Research new technologies and applications to advance the business/administrative functions of the department.9.
Manage the accurately and timely printing and distribution of all Bus Rider student tags.a. Complete the annual printing of Bus Rider student tags for all elementary school and special needs students prior to the start of each school year.b. Print Bus Rider tags each day for any new elementary school student enrollment, any special needs student enrollment, or any bus stop or route change.10.
Perform other duties as assigned.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee will be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, or use/stand on a 6 - 8 ft. ladder. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
