This includes plastic injection molding machines, motors, gearboxes, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) from brands like Allen Bradley and Siemens. The successful candidate will be instrumental in reducing downtime, increasing equipment reliability, and ensuring adherence to production schedules and safety standards.Key Responsibilities:Maintenance and Repair of Injection Molding Equipment:Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plastic injection molding machinery.Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components on molding machines, including clamps, screws, barrels, and nozzles.Inspect and adjust machine parameters to ensure quality standards and efficient operation.Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting:Diagnose and resolve issues in electric motors, gearboxes, and other critical machinery components.Perform mechanical repairs, including bearing replacements, seal replacements, and other wear and tear fixes on equipment.Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues within equipment, including wiring, fuses, relays, switches, and other electronic components.PLC Troubleshooting and Programming:Work with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs for equipment monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.Make minor program adjustments to PLC systems as needed to optimize equipment performance.Collaborate with engineering teams to perform upgrades and program enhancements to improve machine function and safety.Preventive Maintenance and Continuous Improvement:Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.Identify areas for improvement in equipment performance and efficiency.Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).Safety and Compliance:Maintain adherence to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.Participate in regular safety meetings, training sessions, and follow established Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.Assist in risk assessments for new equipment and processes to ensure all safety measures are in place.Qualifications:Education & Experience:High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred.Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic, specifically with plastic injection molding equipment, motors, and PLCs (Allen Bradley/Siemens experience strongly preferred).Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems within industrial machinery.Proficiency in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of plastic injection molding machines and related equipment.Familiarity with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, including program adjustments and diagnostics.Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools necessary for equipment maintenance.Interested in hearing more?
