**Must-Have:**- Level III NICU Experience- Assessment/reassessment skills- IV therapy proficiency- Medication administration- NG/PO feedings- Ability to collaborate with ancillary departments and parents
**Job Description:**- Provide care for high-risk newborns- Support infants requiring multi-system support measures- Experience with respiratory support including nasal cannula, CPAP, NAVA, conventional ventilation, oscillator ventilation, nitric oxide- Manage central lines including PICC, UAC, UVC, Arterial line, Broviac- Administer IV therapy including maintenance fluids, vasopressor support, sedation, and paralytics- Conduct Video EEG and cooling- Perform NG/PO feedings- Administer Eat Sleep Console treatment with medication management
**Support on the Unit:**- 24/7 Charge nurse for patient assignment- 24/7 Respiratory Therapy and Neonatologist in the department- Support from Nurse Manager, NICU Nurse Educator, Lactation Consultants, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Social Work, Case Management, Pharmacy, Dietician, and Chaplain
**Equipment and Charting System:**- EPIC- Bridge milk management system- GE B450 cardiac monitoring- Alaris IV and syringe pumps- Medela feeding pumps- Pyxis for medications- Artic Sun for cooling
**Floating:**- Newborn care only
**Orientation:**- Day 1: Meet with Nurse Manager and Nurse Educator for orientation and onboarding. Remainder of the day on the unit for training- Day 2: Training with preceptor- Day 3: Assigned a work buddy with own patient assignment
**Scheduling:**- No set schedules; must be available to work 7 days a week- Plugged into the schedule where needed- Every other weekend required- Holiday expectations: Every other holiday based on start date
**Other Notes:**- Scrub color: Any color is acceptable- Cafeteria available during day and evening hours
