Varsity Brands is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our infrastructure team and serve in one of the most dynamic industries in the world: Sports. We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer II to join our team in Memphis, TN. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in network engineering, with a focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network systems. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DONetwork Design and Implementation: Design, configure, and deploy network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems to support business operations.Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal network functionality and reliability.Security Management: Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems to protect against cyber threats.Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams and other departments to develop and implement network solutions that align with business goals and objectives.Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures to ensure accurate records and facilitate future upgrades and troubleshooting.Performance Optimization: Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and optimize network performance.Technical Support: Resource supporting Service Desk, Systems and Security teams to resolve critical/high impact customer issues.Provide advanced technical support and guidance to junior network engineers and other IT staff, assisting with complex network issues and projects.Stay Current: Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the network infrastructure remains modern and efficient.QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, and BGP.3+ years of experience with SD-WAN technologies such as Meraki, Versa, etc.Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools. SolarWinds a plusStrong understanding of network security principles and practices.Strong troubleshooting skills to isolate network faultsKnowledgeable of industry best practices, procedures, and compliance (i.e. SOX, PCI)Proficient with packet capture tools such as WireSharkExperience with WLAN technologies (i.e. 802.11x, Flex Connect, Wifi 6, etc)Knowledgeable with multi factor authentication and authorization processes and protocols. TACACS+, Radius, LDAP, AD,Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Must thrive in environments of both high collaboration and strong autonomyDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills.EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent field experience.5-7 years of experience in network engineering or a similar role, with a proven track record of managing complex network environments.Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent highly preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
