The Technical Manager provides technical guidance to the QUAB laboratory and production facility. Additionally, the position provides applied technology support for global customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintaining safe conditions and managing safe actions for all persons working in the lab area.
  • Functional leadership of the Process, Laboratory and Information Systems support systems.
  • Establishing and improving laboratory procedures.
  • Managing laboratory personnel.
  • Resource support to regulatory functions and operational shift teams as required.
  • Participating in quality system management reviews and audits.
  • Participating in EHS reviews and audits.
  • Developing specifications for raw materials and final products.
  • Designing and implementing process tests following management of change process.
  • Assisting production with operability, utility, environmental or quality concerns.
  • Participating in process hazards reviews.
  • Service on QUAB Leadership Team.
  • Recommending process adjustments based on quality control data, visual inspection and technical judgement.
  • Providing technical assistance to QUAB customers regarding product analysis and application.
  • Managing customer sampling, product storage, and packaging operations to ensure product quality, specifications and shelf life are maintained.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records of laboratory analyses.
  • Process optimization support.
  • Process/production troubleshooting to resolve issues and to improve plant operations.


REQUIREMENTS
  • A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in supervisory and/or technical roles is required.
  • B.S. Chemistry or B.S. Chemical Engineering required.
  • Demonstrated leadership in EH&S including both personal and process safety.
  • Familiarity with standard chemical production QA/QC methods and techniques.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills required.
  • A track record of driving continuous improvement.
  • MS Office skills required.
  • Training in RCA, PSM, ISO9001 preferred.
  • Laboratory equipment troubleshooting/maintenance skills preferred.
