Excellent Infectous Disease Physician Opportunity in Prescott, AZ (90 minutes from downtown Phoenix, AZ)

Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Group is seeking a full-time Infectious Disease Physician to join our established practice in Prescott, AZ.

This role is a solo provider practice who works closely with hospitalists, wound care center and infusion center, small practice with 1 MA and 1 receptionist as support staff. The patient population is a dults only, most patients are over age 50 due to the population of Prescott and surrounding areas. The most common things that we treat are infected joints, diabetic foot infections, Pulmonary MAC and some bacteremia / endocarditis. Thi roles does not treat HIV (there is a state funded clinic here who treats), hepatitis (GI providers treat here), or active TB (go to the county health department). 75% of outpatient consults were inpatients that transitioned to our provider following care in the outpatient setting. That is where most of our referrals come from.

Responsibilities
  • This role 8 hours a week at the wound care center and consults on those patients when the nurses change their dressings so one can see their wounds. Sees 20-30 patients at the wound care center a week.
  • Outpatient: 30-40 office patients a week, provider currently spends 3-4 hours in clinic every day

  • Inpatient: 2-16 ID inpatients at a time. Provider goes to both hospital campuses to consult.
  • Consults: Provides 4-10 inpatient consults on his less busy office days (Tues, Thurs, Fri)
  • Typical week: 40 - 50 hours a week. 18 hours a week seeing outpatients, 8 hours a week spent at the wound care clinic and 10-12 hours seeing inpatients/ week. Everything can vary based on the week.
  • Procedures: Wound care/ dressing changes but no cutting, puncturing or aspirations.
  • Call: Call involves to answers the phone and assist with questions from hospitalists. Can receive up to 8/9 calls with questions in a day. Not all of those are patients that need consulted on.
  • Additional: The most important role here is transitioning patients from inpatient to outpatient and helping maintain their meds/ labs/ infusions/ wound care.

Qualifications
  • BC/BE in Infectious Disease/ Internal Medicine
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid state medical license or ekgible to obain as an MD or DO
  • Valid DEA certificate
  • New graduates considered

Pay Range
$141.34 - $118.34 /hour
