12Hr shifts: 545a-6p & 545p-6a. Core staff scheduled first, then agency fill in. Schedule is out for 6-weeks at a time, 2 weeks in advance.At least every other weekend, if not most all weekendsVaries holiday requirements, but usually staff are scheduled during holidays as needed.Unit Specific Information
# of Beds: 32Nurse/Patient Ratios: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, MedSurg 1:5Must be able to titrate drips and be comfortable taking PCU (1:4) or MedSurg (1:5) patients. Metering common critical care drips in ICU, and Cardizem, insulin, pressors/inotropes, heparin, Lasix, bumex in PCU.1 charge nurse every shift in ICURT Equipment: Vents, CPAP, BIPAP, heated high flow (Opti flow)Tele tech is located in the ICUCommon diagnoses: Heavy cath lab - Coronary angiograms & stenting, peripheral angiograms & stenting, sepsis, neurosurgery, drug & alcohol abuse, COPD, CHF, etc.Additional Details
First time traveler okay. Prefer ICU background, otherwise must have PCU background.Techs are generally staffed (census/staffing dependent) ratios: 1:8-16.Hospitalist in house 24/7 for their patients.No floating outside of this mixed unit.Royal blue scrubs required.
