Transportation Manager
Location:
Old Dutch Foods
Hours:
8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Pay:
Salaried + Bonus, Varies depending on experience.
As the Transportation Manager at Old Dutch Foods, you will oversee and supervise the Transportation Department, ensuring the efficient distribution of both outbound and inbound loads from our distribution center. In this role, you will need to adapt to the dynamic transportation industry, maintain close contact with Old Dutch drivers, and ensure the safe and timely delivery of each load. You will be accountable for driver records, licensing, drug testing, and accident reporting.
Key Responsibilities:Schedule, dispatch, and manage our Old Dutch Transport fleet of drivers (10-12)Maintain compliance for Old Dutch Transport drivers - HOS, MVR, drug policy, etc.Hire new drivers when necessary, abiding by all company, state, and federal guidelines.Monitor driver team via Omnitracs follow up with drivers on compliance and safety issues.Collaborate with the Distribution Manager to ensure the safe and efficient distribution of Old Dutch products.Cooperate and communicate goals to warehouse team.Maintain positive relationships with sales supervisors, salespeople, and office staff.Communicate with carriers and brokers to negotiate, tender, and resolve freight issues for effective transportation of company goods.Administer use of Open Dock to manage dock appointments made in house by carriers.Assist with warehouse supervision.Physical Environment:
Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk or computer terminal.Frequent use of computer, telephone, calculators, keyboards, and other office equipment.Work primarily in a temperature-controlled environment.Tolerate noise levels in a warehouse setting.Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma + 5 years of experience, or bachelor's degree in transportation or logistics management.Experience:
Minimum of 2+ years.Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. Proficient in transportation management software and MS Office Suite.Benefits:
