A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for a night ICU RN. 12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed. 2 years of unit experience.Job Requirements

Department: ICU*Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS*Additional Details

Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2, if we do have downgrades we staff the medical patients at 1:5 and PCU at 1:4Common diagnoses/Types of patients: COPD, pneumonia, CVA, TIA, DKA, sepsis, CHF, STEMI, neuroAre RNs required to titrate drips?: YesCommon titratable &/or set rate drips: Vasopressors, Insulin, TNK, Heparin, IV Antibiotics, SedativesIs there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: YesAre there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1 tech until we get to 20 and then 2 techs up to 24Hospitalist &/or Intensivist in house 24/7? In the ICU 24/7?: 24/7 critical care coverage, E-ICU staffed with nurse and APRN 24/7RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Vents, BiPAPsAre there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs must read and interpretFloating Requirements: Will float to PCU and Medical floorsScrub Color/Dress Code: Navy BlueHow many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: First week system orientation and onboarding. 1-2 12 hour shifts of unit orientation
