PAY RANGE: Up to $75,000 per year, depending on experience. Excellent benefits (200% match on 403b) and great company culture. This position is in Winston-Salem, NC and does require working in the office (non-remote).
This role functions as a team member in the Human Resources Department, and will embody the values of the organization and provide kind and supportive connections for both managers and employees. Minimum Requirements for the Job :Strong Excel skills (working in corporate HR pulling HCM data and manipulating through formulas and pivot tables. An eagerness to learn and use technology.Experience of 3+ years and training in employee relations (discipline, investigations)Experience in managing complex administrative processes (related to ACA or benefits billing, for example)Knowledge of employment law and experience of some level in one or all of the following: ACA, benefits billing/census files, workers compensation
Job Overview:
This individual will: 1) Work with HR Director review benefits selections, set-up carrier feeds, manage the open enrollment processes and benefits materials. Serves as primary employee and vendor contact and manage STD/LTD processes. 2) Manage Workers' Compensation program: Ensures workplace injuries are tracked, return to work is prompt and appropriate OSHA log filings are completed. Works with carrier to negotiate final settlements. 3) Provide onsite employee relations support, support and reporting for audit purposes, and work with managers to ensure time tracking is handled appropriately prior to payroll
Duties and ResponsibilitiesReconciles billing for all benefits.Provides reports and support materials during audits.Creates materials using Excel to analyze benefits costs/usage.Supports HR Director in researching appropriate benefit selection and implementation within the HR system.Manages Open Enrollment process, to include setting up meetings, creating materials and leading meetings. This could require occasional weekend and late evening work to meet third shift and weekend requirements.Ensures new hires are provided with up-to-date benefits information in the benefits summary booklet.New Hire Orientation (fill-in as needed).Works with outside vendor to ensure COBRA information is sent.Coordinates STD and LTD programs as needed.Manages the Arbor Acres' Workers' Compensation program. Ensures that injuries/illnesses are being reported in a timely manner and appropriate follow-up is being done with the injured employee(s). Maintains good communication with department heads and supervisors regarding work status of their injured employee(s). Works with the Sr. HR Generalist in charge of FMLA/ADA to coordinate as needed.Ensures that accurate and complete statistics of occupational injury/illness reports are maintained on Form 300. Obtains the "Supervisor Accident Investigation" report for each reportable injury and presents general details on each of these injuries at the monthly Safety Committee meetings.Work with managers prior to payroll on time punch questions.Provides onsite employee relations support and management support - this may include hands on training on particular HR/management functions. (Back-up/partner in employee relations issues along with other employee relations team members.Key Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, write and speak English.Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.Significant skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and HR programs as necessary to perform job duties.Strong employment law knowledge, with experience in ERISA, COBRA, general benefits knowledge, Workers' Compensation, Disability and Leave. (We can train on one or two of these but good general knowledge is important.)Must function independently and be willing to bring solutions along with questions, have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with others. Qualifications
Minimum Education
Strongly prefer a graduate of a recognized four (4) year college or university and a SHRM or HRCI certification (Senior Professional or Professional)
Minimum Experience
Must have a minimum of 2 years directly related work experience (benefits) and 5-7 years of experience in the HR field as a generalist, or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
