JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Job Description:

The research team at Penn State Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our highly productive team in the role of research Project Director (PD). The Nese College of Nursing is large and diverse, with an extensive research portfolio, as well as numerous collaborations and partnerships on and off-campus.

We are hiring a full-time, Project Director (PD) to manage multiple funded projects focused on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) care in assisted living (AL) settings. The PD will be responsible for day to day project management activities as listed under Job duties and responsibilities primarily for two funded studies. The study activities and meetings will be primarily virtual except for recruitment and data collection in five assisted living (AL) communities in PA. The on-site recruitment and data collection activities is projected to occur between spring and fall in 2025 during which the project Director (PD) will need to travel to study sites (i.e., ALs) located around Harrisburg and Hershey, as well as other nearby locations as needed.

Job duties and responsibilities:

The Project Director plans, develops, and maintains procedures, equipment, and policies that have an impact in all facets of behavioral and clinical research in the long-term care environment under the direction of Dr. Anju Paudel PhD, MGS, RN. The specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Assisting with recruiting clinical sites and communicating with study team, stakeholders, and research participants.

Coordinating with clinical sites and participating in research procedures as necessary.

Assisting with recruiting study staff including research evaluators.

Assisting with research team training.

Scheduling and leading research team meetings.

Preparing study progress and/or regulatory reports.

Assisting with IRB application submissions and reporting.

Participating in recruitment, screening, and consent process for research participants.

Assisting with data collection, management, and analysis.

Facilitating data collection in REDCap and maintaining data protection and quality.

Assisting with scheduling clinical study procedures and research assistant work hours.

Participating in other research-related activities as delegated.

May need to receive COVID-19 tests on regular basis as required by clinical sites or policy of university and government.

Applicant requirements:

Must have completed the COVID-19 and/or other vaccination at least 2 weeks prior to employment or as required by clinical research sites.

Must have exemplary computer skills in MS Office. Experience with database management with Qualtrics, REDCap, and NVIVO preferred.

Must be able to work collaboratively with the research team and research participants, as well as work independently to meet project deadlines.

Individuals with a background in healthcare, effective communication skills, and experience working with older adults preferred.

This position will be filled at the level of Professional or Intermediate Professional, depending on the final applicant's experience and education. The Professional level requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional education and/or experience are required for higher-level positions.

T his is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$56,200.00 - $89,600.00
