Our client design and manufactures fully customized automated assembly equipment for their customers and they need a Sr. Project Engineer.
You will be responsible for taking a project from concept to completion.
This includes
understanding all technical issues potentially affecting your project such customer specifications, cycle times, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.
Continually assess the impact of these issues to your project and facilitate corrective action, maintain project budget, and engineering design release schedule integrity.
You will report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.

What you will be doing:
Responsible for the overall design of a custom automated machine contracted for by a client.
If a smaller project you may do this on your own or if it is a larger project, lead a team of Design Engineers and outside design contractors.
Manage resources and breakdown the design effort for large projects into manageable design tasks and clearly communicate
the design time, tasks, timeline, and milestones to your team and hold them accountable.
Your designs may incorporate robotics, vision systems, welding, fixtures, controls, material handling, laser or plasma cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, high-speed product assembly, and packaging
Communicate regularly the status of your projects with customers and the management team
What they are looking for:
BSME or similar degree with strong mechanical design skills
5+ years of project design experience for fully customized automated production equipment ( NOT
a base product that can be slightly modified for the customer)
You must know SolidWorks
You must have experience with welding, fixture design and GD&T
Any experience with robotics, vision systems, computer controls, data acquisition experience is desirable.
Direct experience working with customers and suppliers is desirable
Interpersonal verbal and written communication skills are extremely important
Proven success managing, facilitating, or controlling a group of people or large project to a timeline and schedule is desirable
Good computer skills are needed
