Job Title: NICU Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Weekender Days (3x12s), Every other holiday, and some call required Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: - Respiratory Therapist | North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care | Prior to Start Date - Respiratory Therapist | Minnesota Board of Medical Practice | Within 6 Months of Start Date Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 Days of Start Date - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 6 Months of Start Date - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) | Within 6 Months of Start Date Must-Have: - NICU or non-NICU experience - Experience with EPIC EMR Job Description: - Perform and document evaluations and patient assessments. - Provide diagnostic and therapeutic treatment and appropriate education. - Identify significant changes in patient's condition and document appropriately. - Communicate pertinent information to appropriate caregivers. - Perform pain assessments and take appropriate action according to standard operating procedures. - Complete all documentation, including order entry, verification, electronic medical records, medication charting, patient safety/incident variance reports, and equipment repair tags. - Process patient charges and run/verify reports as needed. - Disassemble, clean, assemble respiratory equipment, and perform preventative maintenance according to standard operating procedure. - Tag equipment in need of preventative maintenance, safety check or repair and notify the appropriate department and/or deliver equipment to them. - Responsible for the transport of infants to/from referral health systems. - Provide high-quality critical care in accordance with the patient care guidelines established by the organization. - Perform other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department/organization. Notes: New graduates must obtain registry from the National Board for Respiratory Care within 12 months of the start date (RRT). Position Urgency: Normal Holiday Coverage Required: Yes
