A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Litigation Associate to join a fast-paced trial team based in Los Angeles. The firm’s litigation practice represents diverse clients in high-stakes matters across several industries, including employment, personal injury, sexual misconduct, and class action litigation. The ideal candidate will be passionate about litigation and trial work and eager to take on significant responsibilities in a supportive, growth-focused environment.Duties:
Independently manage cases from initial pleadings through to trial preparation.Draft pleadings, discovery motions, dispositive motions, and other essential filings.Oversee both affirmative and responsive discovery processes.Take and defend depositions, including those of experts.Participate in court conferences, hearings, and mediations.Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategy.Prepare for and assist in trial execution.Requirements:
Admitted to practice law in California.5-8 years of litigation and trial experience.Strong academic background and proven track record in litigation.Experience in both State and Federal courts.Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:
California State Bar admission is required.Skills:
Exceptional oral advocacy and communication skills.Strong research, writing, and analytical capabilities.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.Capable of managing sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Well-organized with superior time management skills.Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple complex matters simultaneously.A proactive, results-oriented approach to problem-solving.A genuine interest in taking cases to trial.Note: The position requires in-office presence in Los Angeles with occasional travel for trials, client meetings, and depositions.
