Job Description:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Solutions Architect to join our team with experience working with the US Government, particularly the Defense and Intelligence agencies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for shaping and delivering technical solutions for new prospective US Government customers. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and business development acumen to drive successful engagements and foster long-term relationships with government clients. Technical experience related to USG systems, GEOINT, SIGINT, SATCOM, classified cloud deployments, space, and ground systems are especially relevant.As a small team, we hold many roles and value innovative, self-reliant, and flexible team members. Ideal candidates will have a background as a solutions architect, account manager, systems engineer, program manager, or product lead who has successfully engaged in business relations efforts with the US Government.This position requires frequent travel within the DC area and elsewhere, including travel to conferences and customer and company meetings.
Key Responsibilities:Technical Solution Design:
Collaborate with prospective US Government customers to understand their requirements and design tailored technical solutions that meet their needs built on Cognitive Space’s technology platform. This includes conducting technical assessments, developing solution architectures, and creating detailed and compelling proposals.Business Development:
Work closely with the business development and executive team to identify and pursue new opportunities within the US Government sector with strategic relevance to the mission of the company and the customer. This involves participating in client meetings, presenting technical solutions, and leading the development of winning proposals.Customer Engagement:
Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective government customers. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring a deep understanding of their technical challenges and objectives.Collaboration:
Collaborate with both internal and external support teams, including product management, engineering, and sales, to ensure the successful delivery of solutions. Provide technical guidance and support throughout the sales cycle and project implementation.Market Analysis:
Stay informed about Government priorities, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape within the US Government sector. Use this knowledge to inform solution development and business development strategies.Compliance and Security:
Ensure that all solutions comply with relevant government regulations, security standards, and best practices to address any concerns and ensure the integrity of proposed solutions.Qualifications:Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a solutions architect or similar role, with a focus on the US Government sector.Technical Skills:
Strong technical background in satellite ground systems, US Government systems, satellite communications, cybersecurity, and/or GEOINT. Experience with government-specific infrastructure and software deployment processes is highly relevant.Business Acumen:
Proven track record in business development, including identifying opportunities, shaping appropriate solutions, and delivering winning proposals. Strong understanding of government procurement processes and contracting vehicles. Experience with CRM systems and sales processes.Communication:
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to meet customer needs.Team Player:
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, with a strong commitment to customer success, while also having the ability to work independently.Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as Aerospace, Engineering, Computer Science, or Geospatial. An advanced degree is preferred.Location:
Residency in the Greater DC area is strongly preferred.Clearance:
